If your computer gets its high-speed Internet through Cox Cable, you may have trouble sending emails. This affects everyone using Cox - whether your email account is with them (i.e. "joeuser@cox.net") or somewhere else ("info@nonviolenceinstitute.org" for example.)
In your mail program's settings:
change the outgoing mail server to: smtp.east.cox.net
this server does NOT require "authentication" or passwords, so turn those off.
