Each year Jewish communities throughout the world commemorate the six million Jews murdered in the Holocaust, and the heroism of survivors and rescuers. Cedric Huntley, NVI Executive Director, attended the Yom HaShoah at Memorial Park on South Main Street in Providence.
Several survivors shared stories with dignity and power, such as Andrew Algava who has made his life's purpose "to empower myself and others to manifest generosity, kindness, and forgiveness in order to relieve the suffering in the world."

We admire and respect the amazing work of the Rhode Island Holocaust Museum in ensuring that the disturbing truth about the darkest and most violent time in modern history is not forgotten or distorted, to ensure that this horrible tragedy will not be repeated.
